Register a sole entrepreneur (eenmanszaak)
Registering a sole proprietorship consists of 3 steps. First, check if you need to register and see if you meet the necessary criteria. Do I need to register my business?
Step 1: prepare your registration
Fill in the digital registration form as completely as possible. This will enable us to provide you with the best possible service when you visit an office to submit your registration. To do this, make an appointment at a KVK office (see step 3).
Are you starting your business in 2020? From 1 January 2020, the Tax and Customs Administration will issue the new VAT identification number to sole traders. On the KVK registration form, set 'register with the Tax and Customs Administration' to 'no'.
Step 2: make an appointment
Did you fill in the registration form completely? After filling in your details you need to visit KVK in person to complete your registration. This is only possible by appointment. You can register at any office.
Step 3: complete your registration
During your appointment, a KVK employee will check your identity and whether you meet the registration requirements.
Costs for registration
You pay a one-time registration fee of €50,-.
For €15,- you can immediately bring an extract, which you can use as proof of registration. Some banks and wholesalers ask for an extract.
Payment is only possible with debit or credit card.
